Λ-Σ conversion in Λ 4He and Λ 4H based on a four-body calculation

Abstract

Precise four-body calculations for Λ 4He and Λ 4H have been performed in the framework of a variational method employing Jacobi-coordinate Gaussian-basis functions. All of the NNNΛ and NNNΣ rearrangements are explicitly taken into account for the first time in the context of realistic NN and YN interactions. The role of Λ-Σ conversion and the size of the virtual Σ component in Λ 4He and Λ 4H are discussed.
