Abstract
The dielectric anisotropy of dual frequency liquid crystal(DFLC) can be controlled to be positive ornegative depending on the frequency of an applied electric field. The frequency that dielectric anisotropy turns into minusfrom plus (i.e., dielectric anisotropy=0) is called the crossover frequency. By using DFLC for Blue Phases (BPs), a new typeof electro-optical device is expected to be developed. In this study, the mixture of the DFLCs and the chiraldopant showed BPs, and we confirmed their electro-optical switching.
