Abstract
A λ-tunable WDM/TDM-PON system is proposed for future optical access network system. λ-Tunability of the ONUs enables various functions such as reducing OPEX, power saving, reliability improvement and so on, which are essential for future access systems. Required performances of tunable devices are estimated with respect to each function.
