Abstract
The self-assembly is the phenomenon that structure and order are formed spontaneously in nature and attracts attention as methodology of the bottom up type nanotechnology. However, the self-assembly of artificial materials is far inferior to biological systems in variety and ingenuity. Therefore it is considered that the nanotechnology evolves innovatively by realizing the advanced self-assembly that the natural life shows. In this study, we investigate a phenomenological mimic of self-assembly observed in natural life and apply it to artificial materials. We present here the self-assembling behavior of particles in a viscoelastic field of liquid crystals for the translational motion of particles.
