Abstract
1920年代以降の財閥のコンツェルン化の中で、電力業への進出の不活発さは、従来、人材の不足が理由とされてきた。本論文では、1910年代まで三菱系の電力会社であり、その後、三菱が手放した猪苗代水力電気を事例に、立原仁・太刀川平治という具体例を挙げて、人材が不足していた訳ではない点を明らかにした。その上で、財閥の電力業への進出の不活発さは、電力業界の競争の激しさによる不安定性により、財閥が選択をした結果であることを論じた。
