Abstract

The influence of added [60]fullerene on the gelation ability of Zn(II) porphyrin appended cholestrol derivatives was discussed. A highly ordered aggregation mode was induced by the intermolecular Zn(II) porphyrin-[60]fullerene interaction that forced porphyrin moieties to form regular sandwich complexes with [60]fullerene. The analysis showed that the slight structural charge in gelators was multiplicatively reflected by the higher order structure of the organogel fibers.
