The influence of added fullerene on the gelation ability of Zn(II) porphyrin appended cholestrol derivatives was discussed. A highly ordered aggregation mode was induced by the intermolecular Zn(II) porphyrin-fullerene interaction that forced porphyrin moieties to form regular sandwich complexes with fullerene. The analysis showed that the slight structural charge in gelators was multiplicatively reflected by the higher order structure of the organogel fibers.
