N2 - A 53-year-old Japanese woman presented with multiple painful nodules on the extremities and trunk. She developed painful nodules on the upper arm during her twenties, and these gradually increased in number and spread to the extremities and trunk. She had a history of uterine myomas and bilateral breast cancer. In addition, her daughter also had a history of uterine myomas. Pathological findings revealed that the nodules were composed of bundles of smooth muscle fibers with no atypical spindle-shaped cells in the dermis. Immunohistochemically, the cells were positive for α-smooth muscle actin, desmin, and vimentin. These histological findings and clinical findings are diagnostic of multiple cutaneous leiomyomas. In this case, especially painful nodules were resected. Multiple cutaneous leiomyomas are rare and the cause of this disease is not clear. There have been many reported cases of multiple cutaneous leiomyomas being associated with uterine myomas, as we also observed in our case.
