A compact circular corner monopole antenna for UWB application

Abstract

A compact microstrip-fed planar monopole antenna for ultrawideband application is presented.The antenna is formed with a rectangular patch and two quarter circles at each side of the lower corners of the patch. By applying a notch in the truncated ground to improve the impedance bandwidth, a 4.9:1 (3.0-14.7 GHz) S11 <-10 dB-bandwidth is realized.
