Abstract
A highly sensitive detector for liquid chromatography using the laser two-photon ionization technique is described. Detection limits for several aromatic molecules, such as pyrene and chrysene, with a nitrogen laser (337 nm) are in the range 5-30 pg, which is considerably below the limits attainable with a commercial u.v. absorption detector.
