A new one-dimensional long period superstructure in pd5ce

Abstract

The crystal structure of Pd5Ce phase has been analyzed by X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. It is revealed that the Pd5Ce has two phases, one stable at low temperature and the other at high temperature. The structure of the low temperature phase is identified as a kind of long period antiphase structure with fcc fundamental cells.
