Abstract

The particle transport was investigated by combining an impurity pellet injection and high-spatial bremsstrahlung measurement in neutral beam heated plasmas on Large Helical device (LHD). The Z dependence of the transport coefficient on the impurity samples and the electron density was investigated for carbon, aluminum, and titanium ions. Taking into account the recycling rate, the derived D and V were evaluated by minimizing the residual error between the measured and calculated bremsstrahlung intensity. The results show that the inward convection has a strong dependence on both electron density and on charge state.
