A study on the super composite slab bridge of taxiway designed for hypothetical aircraft load

Abstract

A problem of the airport expansive construction is that Air traffic control area is blockade for a long term under construction and it is necessary to repair existing facilities greatly. Therefore there is demand for a construction method of taxiway expansion to overcome the functional restrictions and meet the safety regulations. This study introduces a method of taxiway bridge corresponding to hypothetical aircraft with design load of 680-ton crossing over the airport access road. This taxiway bridge is required to have high strength to support the load of aircraft and to have low girder height not to interfere the vertical clearance of access roads. And the taxiway bridge needs to be simple for component carrying in and main-girder erection at a site in order to construct in air traffic control area. Then it was decided to develop the Super Composite Slab Bridge as a design for hypothetical aircraft load.
