Abstract
For the recovery of hydrogen isotopes from inert gas mixtures concerning a fuel cycle of a D-T fusion reactor, the dynamical hydrogen absorption and desorption characteristics of a yttrium particle bed were numerically and experimentally investigated. If the hydrogen partial pressure of the gas phase in equilibrium with the hydrogen concentration on the surfaces of yttrium particles is greater than a plateau pressure, a hydride is formed on the surfaces and the diffusion process may be treated as a binary system of two phases.
