Abstract

The feedforward controller is designed and demonstrated to accelerate the wavelength switching for the tunable distributed amplification (TDA) DFB lasers. The controller has an impulse overshoot waveform so as to induce prompt transition of short time phenomena. The controlled laser shows a wavelength switching time of 150 ns which shows effectiveness of the proposed technique.
