Abstract

A study of novel ruthenium-amidinate complexes was carried out by photochemical displacement of benzene ligand. The complex 5 also reacted with pyridine to give a bispyridine complex. The acetonitrile ligands of 5 are easily replaceable by other σ-donor ligands (L) such as pyridines, phosphines, and isocyanides.
