Advances in radiotherapy of lung cancer

Abstract

Radiotherapy has an important role in the treatment of lung cancers. Developments of radiotherapy for lung cancer were reviwed. Small lung lesions may be good targets of conformal radiotherapy, intrabronchial brachytherapy and proton or heavy ion beams. Large lung lesions can be controlled by combination therapy with hyperthermia.
