Abstract

Amplified spontaneous emissions (ASE) were observed from an organic semiconductor laser structure under optical pumping. A transparent indium-tin-oxide (ITO) anode and cathode was employed. Electrical pumping of this device was also evaluated. The results show that the transparent electrode configuration enables both efficient carrier injection and ASE at low optical excitation.
