Abstract

The electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrum of C60S16 has been analyzed. It has been found that this compound has radical spins of only one spin per 103-104 C60 molecules. In this sense, C60S16 is an essentially neutral van der Waals complex. Nonetheless, the observed anisotropy of the ESR lineshape suggests that rotation and pseudorotation of C60 - in C60S16 is suppressed even at room temperature.
