Abstract
We estimated the required RA(Resistance-Area-Product) and MR ratio in order to apply CPP(Current-Perpendicular-to-Plane)-GMR film to high areal density perpendicular magnetic recording (areal density 600Gbit/in^2). CPP-GMR has several merits; such as down-sizing merit, but we need to make RA(Resistance Area Product) of CPP-MR film smaller to apply higher areal density recording. Though there are no CPP-MR films which can satisfy this estimation, there are several approaches, such as CCP(Current-Confined-Path)-Type CPP-GMR.
