Back angle elastic scattering of 12C + 12C at E A ≥ 10 MeV

The angular distribution of 12C + 12C elastic scattering have been measured up to θ{symbol}cm = 90° at 139.5 and 158.8 MeV. Structureless, gross bumps which are reminiscent of nuclear rainbow scattering, and a constant cross section region at far back angles were observed. These backward-angle data are shown to be sensitive to the interior part of the nucleus-nucleus interaction, specially of the real term.
