Buckling behavior and aseismic properties of concrete-filled tubular members under cyclic axial loading

Abstract

The aseismic capacity of concrete-filled circular tubes under cyclic axial loading was investigated experimentally, in which emphasis was placed on both flexural and local buckling. An empirical equation was proposed to predict fracture due to very low-cycle fatigue, considering with local buckling. Based on the fracture prediction, the energy absorption capacity was estimated for the tubes.
