Burst-mode bit-rate discrimination circuit for 1.25/10.3-Gbit/s dual-rate PON systems

Abstract

We propose a 1.25/10.3-Gbit/s bit rate discrimination circuit that can distinguish the bit rate of burst signals in 50 ns. A dual-rate burst-mode receiver including this circuit can operate correctly without any external control signals.
