Calibration of heavy ion beam probe energy analyzer using mesh probe in the JFT-2M tokamak

Abstract

Mesh probe in the JFT-2M tokamak was used for the calibration of heavy ion beam probe (HIBP) energy analyzer. The slope of the normalized difference (ND) with respect to the bias voltage showed the dependence on the in-plane entrance angle to the analyzer slit. Good signal to noise ratio was obtained with a beam current of about 10 μA.
