Abstract
Amorphous alumina-silica mixed oxides of various synthetic method supported NiMoS catalyst were investigated over the HDS reactivity and their characteristics in a dual catalytic bed with high pressure (5MPa) of pilot plant unit. The combination of LX6 and NMASA-2 was much more active than others, providing 6.6ppm S at 345°C which was attributed to their respective roles for rapid HDS of reactive and/or refractory sulfur species. ASA series supports were characterized by BET, XRD, SEM, HR-TEM and solid NMR. The adequate crystal size of alumina and octahedral coordination of Al species could be suggested to improve the HDS catalytic activity.
