Characterization of Antiphase Boundary-Like Structure of B33 Martensite in ZrCoPd Alloy

Abstract

The antiphase boundary (APB)-like structure of B33 martensite in a ZrCoPd alloy was investigated by means of conventional transmission electron microscopy and high-Angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy. The APB-like structure had atomic shifts along both the c-Axis on the (010)B33 basal plane and the b-Axis on the (001) B33 plane. The displacement vector of the APB-like structure could be expressed as R = (0, 1/4, =)B33 The formation mechanism of the APB-like structure was also elucidated.
