Chiral coordinating agent-based enantiocontrol in carbanion reactions

Abstract

We have been exploring the various enantioselective carbanion reactions induced by the chiral coordinating agent-based asymmetric lithiation protocol. Disclosed herein are the enantioselective carbanion cyclization, SE2 reaction of benzyl lithium, [2,3]- and [1,2]-Wittig rearrangement via the asymmetric lithiation with BuLi complexed with (-)-sparteien or chiral bisoxazoline, as a ligand.
