Clinical statistics at the urological department of kyushu university hospital from 2002 to 2007

Abstract

A study of the clinical statistics at our department from 2002 to 2007 revealed the following results: 1) The number of outpatients was 19,175, including 8,816 new patients (5,980 males and 2,836 females). The most common diseases among the new patients were urogenital malignant tumors (20.7%), benign prostatic hyperplasia (12.4%), inflammatory diseases (11.8%) and neurogenic bladder (10.1%). 2) The total number of inpatients was 3,203 (2,667 males and 536 females), and the majority of them comprised males aged 60̃79 years. The main disease among the inpatients was urogenital neoplasms (53.4%). 3) A total of 2,020 cases underwent surgery, with 539 cases undrgoing open surgery, 372 cases undrgoing laparoscopic surgery, 880 cases undrgoing endourology and 229 cases undrgoing ESWL.
