N2 - Field observation on coastal and river mouth morphology change in Sri Lanka induced by 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami has been carried in May 2005 by a survey team delegated by the Committee on Hydroscience and Hydraulic Engineering, Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE). The survey area covers southeastern, southern and southwestern parts of Sri Lanka. It is found that dependent on the tsunami waver height and vegetation condition covering the sand surface, various level of erosion has occurred along the coast.
