Abstract

Color changes of Pinus densiflora, oil heated at the temperature of 180°C and 200°C, and convection air heated at the temperature of 200°C were investigated. Belgian flaxseed oil was used for oil heating treatment. Color indexes of CIE Lab were measured by using HunterLab MiniScan XE Plus. It was revealed that heating temperature was more influencing factor than heating media, such as oil and convention air. Oil heating at the temperature of 200°C resulted in more uniform and effective color change of Pinus densiflora specimens than the convection air heating treatment at the temperature of 200°C and the oil heating treatment at the temperature of 180°C.
