Abstract

This paper describes a computer supported communicative correction environment called CoCoA (Communicative Correction Assisting System) that supports teachers and students to exchange marked-up documents via Internet. Its environment is very similar to a real one in which people uses with a pen and paper. A correction is an effort to improve a document among teachers and students. There are few systems to manage correction processes with a computer. And we have developed a version management module on CoCoA. This module supports the correcting processes. Correction process is a combination of a serial structure and a parallel structure. A parallel structure needs to merge documents corrected by many teachers. However, to merge is particular difficult that each of teachers thinks different. And a semi-automatic merge method and a confidence to help users are proposed.
