Abstract

Car in a virtual moving cell is a platoon control method which is an extension of the moving cell control scheme. It creates a platoon controller that does not generate a dilatational wave. It consists of a simple PID controller using a simple form of communication from the preceding vehicle to the following vehicle and it also has a simple hardware composition. Simulation results have verified the effectiveness of this method compared to the car-following method.
