Conformal irradiation by proton beam scanning and multilayer energy filter

Abstract

The conformal irradiation for proton therapy was realized by monoenergetic beam scanning, using a new energy filter. The evidence of three-dimensional conformal irradiation by the new filter was presented. The irradiation-time modulation was performed in scanning using constant beam current instead of the intensity modulation necessary for conformal irradiation by beam scanning.
