Abstract
A novel amino acid derivative having two ferrocene units spontaneously forms regular microspheres in binary aqueous/tetrahydrofuran (THF) media. The size of the microspheres is controllable from nano to micro dimensions depending on the concentration and composition of the binary solvent. These microspheres display reversible redox properties, as characterized by cyclic voltammetry.
