Abstract

Crack Projection Method is proposed for the crack opening measurement of rocks, using the 3-dimensional data of the linear absorption coefficient given by the X-rays Computerized Tomography. As an application, the crack propagation k me SteTRodTst specimen is analyzed, and the fracture process zone is successfully evaluated from the comparison of the permanent crack opening to the elastic crack opening.
