Abstract
— For photonic-based continuous THz-wave generation for a wireless communication, a fiber-based configuration has been used. Without the fiber-optics, THz-wave generation system could be minimized by monolithic integration. Thus, based on the monolithic integration, a THz-wave generator consisting of arrayed light sources and arrayed photomixers was proposed. Arrayed light sources that can be operated at 600 GHz were designed and fabricated. Experimental results showed that the light sources have a practically uniform optical output. And then, 600-GHz power combining and directional gain were obtained in combination with arrayed photomixers.
