N2 - Ladder-shaped polyethers (LSPs) are marine natural products produced by dinoflagellates. The unique molecular structure and interesting biological activities have attracted considerable attention of the synthetic community. On the other hand, artificial ladder-shaped polyethers (ALPs) have been designed and synthesized for exploring biological functions. In this review, design and synthesis of ALPs are summarized focusing on the development of synthetic strategies and methodologies.
