Design of internet video transfer system and evaluation of its response

Abstract

On the Internet, many users are using video transfer applications. However a video server can support only a few clients, because video applications use wide bandwidth. Therefore a video server distributes load of video transfer to supports many users. Then we proposed Client-GatewayServer-SourceServer model to reduce server's load, and developed Video Transfer System that has video on demand service and video broadcasting service. We evaluated the response time of this system for user's video operation. It is shown that the response time of this system is faster than existing video transfer applications, though there is a gateway server between clients and servers.
