Abstract

In this report, we designed and tested a ring-type Digitally Controlled Oscillator (DCO) for next generation's wireless RF analog front end and confirmed the operation of a chip fabricated in 0.18 um CMOS technology experimentally. In DCO that we proposed, the width of the gate of MOS of the ring oscillator is optimized using a new series called pseudo Fibonacci sequence instead of the binary series that has been used so far so that energy-saving approach in the ring DCO was examined.
