Abstract

A comparison of the recrystallization behavior during the annealing of martensitic and deformed ferritic materials produced in ultralow carbon steel was conducted. Both materials have the same dislocation density; however, recrystallization was promoted in the deformed material. This was explained by the difference in the distribution of high-angle boundaries prior to the recrystallization.
