Abstract

Fuzzy clustering analysis of sound imagery of musical instruments was carried out to discuss the effectiveness of fuzzy clustering analysis of subjective evaluation of sound.A classification-method experiment was conducted for the analysis of identification of musical instruments,and a semantic differential- method experiment was conducted for the analysis of impression of musical instruments.As a feature of fuzzy clustering,ambiguous instruments were classified to ambiguous categories.In conclusion, fuzzy clustering is considered to be effective for analysis of subjective evaluation of sound because of its ambiguity.
