Abstract

A 68-year-old woman had been diagnosed with diffuse antral vascular ectasia (DAVE) about 2 years previously. Despite endoscopic treatments with heater probe, she had manifested repeated anemia, which required blood transfusion. We thus applied hormone therapy to the patient. During the subsequent 3 months, she did not manifest anemia. In addition, her DAVE had dramatically improved under endoscopy. Our case suggests that hormone therapy is one of the strategies for intractable DAVE.
