Abstract

The direct conversion of butane into isobutene was investigated with various zeolite-like materials loaded with platinum or gallium(III) oxide at a comparatively high temperature of 823 K. MFI-type ferrisilicate loaded with platinum produced isobutene from butane in the highest yield (15.1% at 6 h on stream) among all the catalysts investigated in this work.
