Abstract
In the field of Computer Aided Industrial Design, the 3D CG system can render photo realistic images so that the Designer can examine the aesthetic of an object. The designer can confirm his design image and his intention by using computer simulation to animate his ideas. The designer is therefore able to communicate the full range of his ideas and intentions to others. At present, it is difficult to translate the development of a designer's mind to a computer system because computer operation is sequential. Therefore we tried to create a new method for Computer Aided industrial Design, "Dynamic Design Simulation" in which the designer can make dynamic simulation of transformable design images. We made 3D object data by the 3D CAD system and transformed to 3D polygon data which can be easily used in the 3D CG system. We made a data base and classified all the possible variables affecting a design. By using parameters we are able to transform and visualize as variables the qualities and properties of any given objects. The Next stage will be a human interface design for the CAID system.
