Abstract

This chapter gives comprehensive overviews of the social context of energy in Japan and underscores the pressing need for economically efficient energy management systems. Next, because the aim is to overcome emerging worldwide issues, this chapter surveys past, present, and future academic research trends and their contributions to the study of power, economics, control, and system architecture. This chapter also provides a detailed outline of the book.
