Abstract
A series of hydrazide derivates with various functional groups was tested as a nucleating agent for PA-6. It was found that bis(2- hydroxybenzhydrazinocarbonyl)ethane (B2HE) was most effective to increase the crystallization temperature among them. Mechanical properties of PA-6 nucleated by B2HE were comparable to those nucleated by market available nucleator as P-22. These results suggest that the compound having hydrazide component is highly effective to accelerate the nucleation process. Thus, molecular design based on the compound would lead to the development of a novel agent having superior nucleation ability.
