Abstract
The reaction behavior of low porosity carbon composite pellet produced by hot briquetting process was examined under various gas atmospheres such as CO-N2, CO2-N2 and CO-CO2. The gasification of coal was affected strongly by atmospheric gas concentration. Kinetic analysis in various gas atmospheres was carried out by using the first order reaction model. The relationship between the reaction rate constants for the gasification of coal and atmospheric gas composition has linearity relation regardless of the kind of the atmospheric gas and the reaction temperature.
