Abstract
We have investigated the stability of AZrO3 and AWO4 (A = Ba, Sr and Ca) in the ErBa2Cu3Oy (Er123) matrix, and the effect of their addition on the superconducting properties of Er123. No degradation of Tc(zero) was observed for the Er123 samples with BaZrO3 and SrZO3 addition up to 0.5 wt.%, and with BaWO4 and SrWO4 addition up to 1.0 wt.%. T c(onset) was not affected by the AZrO3 and AWO4 addition for all the samples. The BaZrO3-added samples showed uniform distribution of BaZrO3 fine particles. It was found that BaZrO3 and BaWO4 were most stable in the Er123 matrix among AZrO3 and AWO4 materials.
