Abstract
Polymer-stabilized blue phase liquid crystal is one of the candidates for the next-generation display material. To achieve stabilizing blue phase with polymers, two kinds of monomers: mono-functional and di-functional are required. In this study, electro-optical properties were investigated for polymer-stabilized blue phases prepared with different monomer ratios. The residual birefringence was found to decrease with an increase in the mono-functional monomer ratio, while operating voltage decreased with a decrease in mono-functional monomer ratio.
