Effect of trigger electrodes configuration of a double discharge ozonizer on ozone generation characteristics

Abstract

A double discharge-type ozonizer was developed for efficient ozone generation changing the configuration of trigger electrodes set on the cathode. Dependencies of ozone concentration and ozone yield on the number of trigger electrodes are determined. When the number of trigger discharge electrodes increased, the initial electrons for the main discharge increased and the stability of the main discharge enhanced. Ozone concentration increases to be twice using the four-trigger electrodes system in comparison with the case of the two-trigger electrodes system, and decreases using more than five-trigger electrodes system.
