Abstract

An effect of water vapor on the micros tructure and superconducting property of high-Tc superconductors YBa2Cu3Ox and Bi1.85Pb0.35Sr1.90Ca2.05Cu3.05Oy is investigated by sintering them in H2OO2 instead of O2. The crystal growth, especially that at the grain boundaries, is greatly promoted by the water vapor processing. As a result, the transport critical current density Jc is remarkably enhanced.
